I can move the mouse pointer, but nothing else works, not even CTRL-ALT-DEL. it's bothering me a bit, but I'll get my hardware checked out just in case as it is still under warranty. So I do a hard reboot and run into the same black screen after boot like the rest of you. I have same problem. It's acting like it's booting into Hybernation mode. You'll get a message "hit any button if you want to boot from DVD" and do so. have a peek here so detail step-by-step instructions would be great!!

I guess Nvidia's own driver applies the new settings a little later than the one offered by Microsoft's Update.
